Sweet Rides is a team and a family! We started out 3 years ago with 7 awesome people and our team is now close to 30 people. We love and support each other and along the way raise a serious amount of money for 24 Hours of Booty!!! In the past 3 years Sweet Rides has raised over $50,000 for local and national cancer initiatives and found ways to support the cancer community. Team members have asked friends and family to support this amazing cause and we have also created many events such as a Kid's Ride for the Cure, Annual Canyon's Night, and Booty Bar Crawl. What started out as a crazy idea ended up being an amazingly meaningful event. We have all been touched by cancer in some way - friend, a family member, ourselves, or we just know someone distantly. We have seen how cancer affects everyone, most of all the one that has been diagnosed. We all had different reasons for wanting to participate in the 24 Hours of Booty, but we have one thing in common. We are on a mission to raise money for cancer survivors and the cancer community. We are also on a mission to raise awareness about how cancer affects everyone and share the services that LIVESTRONG provides.
24 Hours of Booty - October 4-5, 2014 in Sandy Springs from 2 p.m. - 2 p.m - It's not a race....It's a ride with a Purpose!
24 Hours of Booty is a 24-hour cycling event to raise local and national funds in the fight against cancer by partnering with local beneficiaries, in Atlanta it is the AFLAC Cancer Center at Children's Healthcare, and the LIVESTRONG Foundation nationally. The Sweet Rides Kids are teaming up together to host our 5th Canyon's Night. These kids have some great ideas and are all about raising as much money as possible! Please support our team by coming out Friday, August 22, between 5 and 10pm. 10% of the sales during the night will be donated, everyone who eats with us gets a raffle ticket for a Canyons Family Night Gift Pack, there will be an hourly 75/25 raffle, a wishing well (bring spare change!), face painting and more!
For each $5 glow stick donation we write in honor or memory of someone who has fought the fight with cancer. During the event we display glow sticks from our team canopy and at night we light them all! We started this campaign in 2010 and in just three years have lit over 1000 glow sticks. Hanging, lighting, and reading the hundreds of names remains a great reminder to each of us as to why we are on this journey. If you want to join us for this amazing part of the 24 hour event we typically hang the glow sticks around 11 a.m. on Saturday, reading each name as we hang them, and the glow stick lighting happens at around 7:45 p.m. Saturday night. We say a prayer for those we honor, their friends, family and all the riders. We light the glow sticks sharing each name and sharing our stories of family and friends we are honoring. It is an amazing event and we hope that you will join us. Help us achieve our 2014 goal of lighting another 500 glowsticks! We can do this together, honoring those we know and love. To honor someone, select the donate link above and click on a Sweet Rides rider, make a $5 donation for each person you want to honor. You can write the names in the message box and email the names to firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you so much for helping us honor our strong, brave, courageous cancer warriors!!!
