Sweet Rides has had an amazing journey over the past several months!!! What started out as a crazy idea ended up being an amazingly meaningful event. We have all been touched by cancer in some way - friend, a family member, ourselves, or we just know someone distantly. We have seen how cancer affects everyone, most of all the one that has been diagnosed. We all had different reasons for wanting to participate in the 24 Hours of Booty, but we have one thing in common. We are on a mission to raise money for cancer research and support services. We are also on a mission to raise awareness about how cancer affects everyone.
24 Hours of Booty is the official 24-hour ride of the Lance Armstrong Foundation, which brings cyclists of all abilities together to raise vital funds for cancer research and survivorship. The event unites people who are passionate about fighting cancer. By benefiting both The Lance Armstrong Foundation and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta,
Sweet Rides is happy to announce that the Community Enrichment Guild of Marlin Business Services Corp. has made a donation to Sweet Rides and 24 Hours of Booty which will benefit LIVESTRONG and AFLAC Blood and Cancer Center at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Marlin's efforts to fight cancer will extend beyond a financial contribution. Employees will also be riding and volunteering at the event in October and participating in Sweet Rides events throughout the year. We are excited about the increased awareness and support from a national organization such as Marlin! Thank you Marlin's Community Enrichment Guild. We look forward to raising money and awareness together to fight cancer!
For each $5 glow stick donation we write in honor or memory of someone who has fought the fight with cancer. During the event we display glow sticks from our team canopy and at night we light them all! We started this campaign in 2010 and in just two years have lit over 500 glow sticks. Hanging, lighting, and reading the hundreds of names remains a great reminder to each of us as to why we are on this journey. Help us achieve our 2013 goal of lighting 500 glowsticks! We can do this together, honoring those we know and love.
